Academic entry requirement

You need a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or equivalent outside the U.S.). Your undergraduate major should be in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field (engineering, physics, mathematics, or similar). That said: a B.E./B.Tech in a non-EE field may still be acceptable if you have a strong technical background. Applicants whose majors are not EE are not automatically excluded — the department states no strict “prerequisite courses” requirement, though you may need sufficient background (especially prior math, circuits, etc.) to succeed in graduate-level engineering coursework.
